Canada’s first online gift store with a full line of Canadian maple leaf gifts is now selling $1.9 million worth of maple leaf flags, including more than $1 million worth from Ottawa, according to a CBC News report.
The online retailer is called The Maple Leaf, and it offers Canada’s two national maple leafs, as well as a large variety of other Canadian maple products, such as maple butter, maple beer, maple ice cream and maple sugar.
The store was founded by two former members of Canada’s national maple-leaf association, said founder and chief executive officer Mark Wills.
They said they were approached by the federal government to offer a full-line of Canadian products online.
Wills said they sold around a million maple leaf items last year and expect to hit that mark this year.
Wilsons parents and two brothers founded the company in the 1980s.
He said his family has been a staunch supporter of Canada-wide maple leaf programs.
Willing said he is excited about the growth of the company and its products, which include Canada’s most popular maple leaf gift, the maple-leaf crown, which is now sold in more than 50 countries.
The company is currently offering $1,000 maple-liver crowns, which are available in sizes from a quarter to two feet long.
Wilts says the company is targeting a broader audience, and the products are sold in all of Canada, including the United States, the U.K., the U, and many other countries.
In addition to the Canadian maple-Leaf crowns sold in Canada, the store also sells $1m worth of custom maple leaf rings, including a custom maple crown with maple leaf bands.
Wilt said he plans to make the maple leaf crowns available for sale in the U!
and other markets.
He also plans to introduce maple-sugar-leaf and maple-frosting products, as the store looks to expand internationally.
He is looking to open up the company to Canadian customers this year, he said.
The stores location in the Lower Mainland is located in Langley, B.C. and the company has been in operation for about four years.
