An unlikely celebrity, who will likely never make it to the big screen or to a new season of “The Drew Carey Show,” is a “special talent” for custom gifts.
And that talent has made his custom garden “special gift” for his wife, Drew Carey, and her friends, the Washington Post reports.
“Dre has a gift for making things that others wouldn’t,” one of her former co-stars, Samantha Allen, told the Post.
“He’s the kind of person who would never do something if he didn’t think it was good.”
The couple met at a private New York wedding in 2006 and became engaged in 2009, the Post reported.
In addition to her work with the show, Carey has worked with the U.S. Coast Guard and as a spokesperson for the National Wildlife Federation.
“The way I see it, it’s all about the story,” Carey told the paper.
“It’s about being there for someone who’s in need, and that’s what I’m there for.
I’m going to help people out if they need help.”
Carey, who is reportedly an avid runner, also is a supporter of the Black Lives Matter movement.
“We need to take care of each other,” he said.
“And I’m here to help with that.”
The couple married in 2010.
Carey said at the time of the wedding that he was “a big fan” of her work and that he hoped she would remain on the show for the rest of her career.
“I’m going back to work, but I don’t think I’m done,” Carey said.
According to the Post, a source told the outlet that Carey has been “working with his wife on the gifts for years,” but that she has “never been able to work out the details.”
For now, it appears that “The Dr. Drew Show” and Carey’s wedding have done nothing to distract fans of the show.
